How can we help?
Answers to the most common questions about the app. Can't find yours? Write - I answer personally.
Getting started
Do I need an account or registration?
No. Kalori works entirely locally on your iPhone - no account, no login, no cloud. You install it and log your first entry within seconds.
How much does Kalori cost?
The app is free - no subscriptions, ads or locked features. If you want to support development, Settings has a “Support the author” option (a voluntary “coffee”).
How do I add an entry?
Fastest with the “+” button at the bottom (calories, water, weight, injection) or by tapping a column of the “Daily goals” card. The entry goes to the day selected in the calendar at the top.
How do I change my calorie and water goals?
Settings → Goal & weight. That is also where you set your target weight, goal date, height and units (kg/ml or lb/fl oz).
Your data
Where is my data stored?
Only on your phone. Kalori has no server and your entries are never sent anywhere - details in the privacy policy.
How do I make a backup?
Turn on the automatic backup to iCloud Drive: Settings → Export & backup. The backup file lands in Files → iCloud Drive → Kalori, once a day. You can also do a manual JSON export at any time.
How do I move my data to a new phone?
On the old phone, make a backup (iCloud auto-backup or JSON export). On the new one: install Kalori, go to Settings → Export & backup → Import and pick the backup file.
Does deleting the app delete my data?
Yes - the data lives only in the app, so deleting it removes your entries too. Exception: the auto-backup file in your iCloud Drive remains and lets you restore everything after reinstalling.
Weight, injections and the report
Why does my weight jump from day to day?
Fluctuations of 1-2 kg between days are normal physiology (water, salt, meals), not fat gain. That is why the chart in Kalori has a dashed trend line - watch that, not a single reading. More: why your weight fluctuates.
How does injection site rotation work?
In Settings (Medication & injections) you choose once which zones you rotate - and at every injection the body figure shows the next recommended site. You log the dose and an optional well-being note.
Where do I find the dose history?
In the medication and injections section you will find a timeline of dose changes, with well-being notes grouped under each dose. The history also feeds the doctor summary.
What is the Doctor summary?
It is a screen (Settings → Doctor summary) that assembles your visit data automatically: tracking period, weight with pace, injections, dose history and averages. It sends nothing - you simply show the screen at the appointment.
Reminders, widgets, privacy
Notifications are not arriving - what should I check?
First: iOS Settings → Kalori → Notifications (system permission). Second: the master switch and the individual reminders in Kalori (Settings → Reminders). Note: the supplement reminder deliberately does not fire on a day when the full set is already checked off.
What widgets does Kalori have?
Home screen (small and medium) and lock screen: “Today” (calories and water, with adding water right from the widget), “Injection” (days until the next one) and “Streak”. Add them by holding the home screen → Edit → Add widget.
How do I enable the Face ID lock?
Settings → Privacy → enable the lock. From then on the app requires Face ID or your phone passcode at every launch, and the content is covered in the app switcher.
I found a bug or have an idea - how do I get in touch?
Write to ios@kalori.pl. Most helpful: your iOS version, phone model and the steps that lead to the problem. I reply personally.
